Gluten-free chocolate almond cake from the island of Capri.
Instructions
Melt chocolate with butter in a double boiler or microwave until smooth
Beat egg yolks with sugar until pale and fluffy
Stir in melted chocolate mixture and ground almonds until well combined
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gently fold into chocolate mixture
Pour into greased 23cm springform pan and bake at 170°C (340°F) for 40 minutes
Cool completely in pan, then dust with powdered sugar before serving
