Instructions

Combine flour, cold butter, sugar and egg to form a smooth dough. Wrap and chill for 30 minutes.

Peel and core the apples, then slice into thin wedges. Mix with cinnamon.

Rub together flour, butter and sugar with your fingertips until mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

Press the chilled dough into a greased 26cm springform pan, creating raised edges around the sides.

Arrange apple wedges over the pastry base and sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly on top.

Bake at 180°C (160°C fan/350°F) for approximately 50 minutes until golden brown.
